1.       Equipment hire is strictly for a period of 7 days, the Hirer will be contacted if no communications have been made with regard for collection of the Contractors equipment. If the Hirer fails to communicate or relinquish Contractors equipment within 30days from the delivery date, the Contractor reserves the right to collect said equipment.

2.       The hirer will deposit material in the Contractors container equipment in a safe manner to ensure that no spillage results when the equipment is transferred to the Contractors collecting unit and the customer will indemnify the Contractor against all liability arising out of any failure by the Hirer to observe the Hirer’s obligations in this respect.

3.       The Contractors equipment must not be loaded beyond the capacity stated on the quotation.

4.       Materials of obnoxious, dangerous or poisonous nature must not be deposited in the Contractors equipment (unless by special arrangement) and direct and consequential damage due to infringement of this condition is the responsibility of the Hirer. Tyres charged at standard industrial price.

5.       No form of asbestos should be put in the skip without prior arrangement.

6.       There is a maximum of 10% total volume of skip size limit on plasterboard deposited in the container (unless otherwise stated by special arrangement).

7.       Liquids are strictly not acceptable as waste material.

8.       Contractor’s equipment must on no account be used as incinerators or for burning refuse deposited therein.

9.       Responsibility cannot be accepted by the Contractor for the recovery of materials deposited in the Contractors equipment. Materials so deposited are presumed abandoned and to be disposed of by the Contractors.

10.   The Hirer will ensure that there is safe and level access for the Contractors collecting units between the Public Highway and the point at which the equipment is sited.

11.   Hirers are responsible for ensuring the Contractors equipment does not constitute a nuisance to a third party or siting thereon does not infringe any statute order or regulation or local by-law. Hirers are reminded that if containers are left on the Highway overnight it is a requirement that such containers are properly lit which is the Hirers responsibility (lights are available for hire).

12.   Contractors reserve the right to suspend collections and deliveries without liability for any loss occasioned by the Hirer or third party in the event of but not limited to; War, Civil commotion, strikes, lock outs, fog, fire or any other bad weather conditions, delays in any transport, plant, breakdown or any accident or any other cause beyond control of the Contractors. The Contractors will use their best endeavours to phase deliveries to meet the Hirer’s requirements but shall not be liable for any delay in delivery or collection or for any direct consequential loss arising there from.

13.   You have full responsibility for the care and safe keeping and return in good order of any skip/container/equipment.

14.   You will pay to us all costs we incur in rectifying any skip/container/equipment returned damaged or unclean. Additionally you will pay for our financial loss until such rectifications are complete.

15.   Where a skip/container/equipment is lost or stolen or beyond economic repair, you will pay for all financial loss to us until you have paid to us the replacement cost.

16.   Skips being delivered off the road – When delivering empty skips off the highway onto your property, or someone else’s property or driveway, hydraulic jacks on the rear of the vehicle must be used to lift any loaded equipment. No responsibility by Dunmow Skips Ltd or the Driver can be taken for any damage done by hydraulic jack legs, lifting the loaded equipment, nor any damage to driveway i.e. Concrete drive, tarmac drive, paving slabs, kerbs, brick walls, gates, manhole covers, and underground services etc. Accepting the vehicle and equipment onto said property constitutes acceptance to these Terms unless strictly otherwise declared.

17.   For skips being placed on roads, verges etc, Council Permits are compulsory and must be obtained. As stated, containers must be lit and is the Hirers responsibility (we can arrange this for you if required).
