Recycling

We have invested extensively in our waste transfer station over the past few years. Our investments include a full powerscreen MRF (Materials Recycling Facility) which screens and sorts all our waste, making a large percentage into a recyclable product.

Another large investment is our waste shredder, this machine scales down your rubbish and enables us to screen and sort ALL waste, giving us the benefit that no material leaves our site without being treated through our MRF.

Materials we recycle

Cardboard, paper and polyethylene are processed into 1 tonne bulk bales and then sent for recycling.

Timber and wood based waste is broken down and chipped onsite with the use of appropriate machinery into containers, then delivered for various uses, such as the production of MDF, Sterling Board and animal bedding. Shredded wood can also be used in the biomass industry for the provision of heat to sustain the running of biomass heating systems providing all the correct licences and certificates are in place.

All scrap metal waste including iron, tin, aluminium, copper, brass, cast iron, and lead are reclaimed from the incoming waste and these metals are segregated and then collected by the metal merchants.

We currently show a tonnage figure of 85% of all received waste being recycled. Although being delighted with this figure, we as a company endeavour to provide our customers with a cost effective and environmentally friendly solution to the ever increasing waste disposal requirements.
